Context
Back-to-school shopping is a short, predictable spike in demand. A traditional storefront built for year-round browsing isn't the right shape for it.
The goal was to capture demand as leads ahead of the rush, rather than compete on standing inventory.
Approach
Built on Next.js 14 with a headless commerce backend (YouCan) instead of a monolithic storefront, so the checkout and content layers can move independently.
Supabase handles data and auth (OAuth2), and the app deploys on Vercel.
The pre-order flow is the product: capture the list, confirm the order, fulfill in a batch rather than one at a time.
Outcome
A working seasonal commerce platform rather than a generic storefront template.
